As an administrator, you have the possibilities to import all kind of resources thanks to a CSV file. SRXP offers great mapping possibilities to facilitate those imports and allows you to easily manage your resources.

The imports options can be found by hovering the ‘Wheel’ icon in the top right of your screen and clicking on any resources*.  Then, the import button will be available on the top right of the page.

*Except Business Rules (no bulk import) & Users import uses another types of import)

The Import button will allow you to import CSV files and to manually map the columns in your file to the right fields. By clicking on this button you will be redirected to the page below.

Example of the project import:

You first need to select your file before being able to start the mapping.

1 - Click on 'Choose file' and select the CSV you want to import.

2 - Choose the separator used in your CSV and at which row the import should start.

*If you have a header, it should be row 2 and if you do not have a header, it should row 1

3 - Click on 'Upload', it will read the first row of the CSV and based on this row you will be able to map it with the value in SRXP.

4 - You can select 'Delete all resources not in the CSV file', this means that all existing attributes in SRXP, which are not in this CSV will be deleted at the end of the import. If you do not select this value, the import will only add and update attributes.

*Selected = Update + Add + Delete*Not Selected = Update + Add

5 - You can map which column in your excel can be used per attribute. It is possible to use the same excel column multiple times.
Make sure that the External ID is completed with Unique values. Only the External ID and the name are mandatory attributes. If you do not have a value in your Excel for an attribute, please select '- not mapped - '.

6 - Once you did your mapping, you can see the mapping result by clicking on preview.

Note:
A - As you can map your file, you do not have to follow a particular template, but you should be aware that some attributes can only be filled in with specific values, so if you wish to complete those attributes with the CSV import, you need to apply the rules in the file before the import. The attributes that required specific values can be found in the description of the value below the attribute name.
B - The system will remember the mapping you used for the next import. It will re-use the column order, so if you import a different type of file, do not forget to adjust it.

7 - The preview page will display a sample of your import. You can check if your mapping is correct or not. You have an easy return to previous page if you need to adjust the mapping. You can click on 'Import' if you agree with the mapping.

8 - Once the import is done, you will receive a confirmation email and you can check the status of your import in the import overview.
